Beth Dykeman began her tenure as Music Director in 2014 after playing the French horn with Music Express for 20 years. A graduate of the University of Windsor with degrees in Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Education, she also completed a Master of Music degree in Music Education and Conducting at Bowling Green State University in Ohio. As a French Horn player, she performed for six seasons with the Windsor Symphony Orchestra and also with the Windsor Light Opera pit orchestra.  Beth was also the orchestra conductor for several Windsor Light Music Theatre productions.

Dedicated to Music Education, she taught instrumental music at St. Anne Catholic High School (WECDSB) for 27 years.  During this time, Beth conducted concert and jazz bands plus pit orchestras for several musicals.  The Department travelled extensively including trips to Disney in both Orlando and Los Angeles.

Beth served in the Canadian Armed Forces Army Reserves for over 40 years and retired in 2019 in the rank of Captain.  She enrolled in 1978 as a musician and became the Director of Music from 1996-2017 of the Windsor Regiment (RCAC) Band.  In 2018, she held the roles of Acting G1 Bands of 31 Canadian Brigade Group and also Senior Brass & Reed Advisor, Canadian Army Bands until her retirement.  Beth has also worked with Cadets at HMCS Quadra Sea Cadet Training Establishment from 1989-1995 as Senior Band Conductor and Director of Music.

Aside from dedicating her talents to Music Express, Beth loves to travel and has a part-time job as a Tour Manager with Education Tours INC.  If she is not home in Windsor, you can find her up in the Bruce Peninsula at her cottage.
