2004/2005 Season Kicks Off BIG!
September 29, 2004
Canada’s Premier Show Band, Music Express, officially kicked off their 27th season with a grand awards night at the Serbian Centre in Windsor on September 24. This special event recognized the generous contributions of their membership and sponsors and a special tribute was made to several members who have been with the group for over 25 years!
After a short summer break, Music Express is ready for the 2004/2005 season and promises to bring many new and exciting offerings to the community and abroad. Musical Director and CEO Nino Palazzolo says “Our mission remains clear – to bring the art of music and entertainment to our community”. He adds, “We do this through great performances but, more importantly, Music Express is about providing community assistance to organizations that need to raise funds for a variety of worthy causes”.
Last season alone the group helped many organizations raise funds including the Children’s Rehab Centre, the Windsor Regional Cancer Centre, the Sunparlor Pregnancy Resource Centre, the Life Skills Program in the Windsor/Essex Separate School Board, the Multi Cultural Council of Windsor/Essex and several churches in our community. Their Community Outreach Program also facilitated a children’s talent show and various children’s performances that helped hundreds participate in a professional calibre of music and raise funds for their schools.
Music Express is a non-profit organization serving the Windsor and Essex County community. Versatile in many styles of music, Music Express offers captivating renditions of Broadway tunes, popular music, jazz, rhythm and blues, rock and roll and Motown. Most notable is its highly inspirational gospel shows, which have raised significant funds for churches throughout our community. In addition to performances at the Cleary’s Chrysler Theatre and the Villanova Festival Theatre, this dynamic show band has entertained audiences in the United States, the People’s Republic of China, Scotland, Austria, Slovakia, England and Mexico.
